PELU SOPHORA CASSIOIDES

 

The pelú or pilo is a small evergreen tree of the Fabaceae family and is native to central-southern Chile. It has a straight trunk, which can reach up to 10 meters in height, whose bark is smooth or cracked gray and its noble yellow wood is very resistant to rot, while its flowers are yellow zygomorphic, grouped in hanging clusters. of great duration.

 

Its growth occurs mainly in shady places with abundant humidity, covering extensive geographical areas, between the Maule River and the south of the Palena River.
